If I'm right, the effect will wear off shortly before midnight. So your thinking is good, but I'd move quickly. I imagine several hours would be enough to heal even very serious injury and to let the effects die down.
It's at least something we can look out for. If we're really doing all this again... it'd probably be good to notice as many clues as we can, even before the trial.
