Yes, the vaguely threatening one. What do you think is up with that?

Hard to say for sure.

On one hand, it would be great if some people were forced to confess. On the other... What if not confessing means you just go missing like Nathan?

Let's be a little more cautious than that.

... I didn't really get to grow up with a mother. Is it weird that I think of you as what I wish my mom would be like...?

[Gently, frowning. She seems a little caught off-guard, but rolls with it.]

Not weird at all. And I think you're a wonderful young man, and anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend or family.

[He shakes his head slightly. It's not something that comes up often, but he's made his peace with that a long time ago.

There's a gentle little laugh.]

Right? And yet, you would not believe the people who are acting like it's the end of the world.

If you interpreted it as "You have to confess your romantic feelings" it's way more embarrassing?

But it's just "your true feelings".

... Yeah, I guess that would be embarrassing. Still surprising, though. With everyone who has seen each other naked, and not just at trial.

We've been sharing memories too. A lot of things we'd really rather not share.

Hard to call each other strangers when our brains wouldn't stop vomiting last week.

Some of those memories were definitely worse than others.

I noticed that... Last week was rough.

I'm glad it stopped.

[He'd die if he had to share more.
